Happy Fourth of July!

Happy Fourth of July everybody!

Just a quick post today.  We went back out into the field, but up to the north part of Mpala for the morning, collecting data both on the same species we were working with yesterday and another species.  This other species has 4 spines coming out of one spot, and there seem to be different spine lengths for associated versus un-associated plants.  We also brought back two plants in the hopes of cultivating them here at the center.

After we finished, we went over to the air strip and Tyler gave us stick shift driving lessons.  We only drove the length of the air strip (so not that far, and super flat), but I was relatively certain I was going to hurt either us or the truck.  And I didn't! No stalling, went into third gear.  Success :)  Hopefully we'll get the chance to try again sometime soon.

No pictures from today, but I should get some at the party tonight.  Enjoy the holiday!
